Description
As a firewood Sweet Chestnut takes as long as Oak to dry, it's like the hardwood version of Larch being a good dense fuel but can be a bit spitty so not ideally suited to open fires but great in a stove.
Sweet Chestnut is also an excellent wood for smoking meat and cooking pizza with its sweet, nutty aroma and high density, long high temperature burn. It's a good all rounder and can be mixed with other species if you find it a bit sweet.
They use it in Italy for cooking pizza, we think that should be good enough for anybody!

Deliveries
If delivery is an option then normally it is completed within 48 hours but if you are near Dunfermline and need a delivery more urgently we can normally accommodate you, we look after our regulars.

To visit the sawmill or warehouse please contact us to make an appointment, we are in Comrie to the West of Dunfermline in Fife. We have much more in stock than you see on the website.
