Larch 6 inch (150mm) posts

This item is currently unavailable.

Scottish Larch naturally durable 150mm (6 inch) x 2.5 metre posts. These are ideal for lean to and garden structures or can be used as sleepers. Larch is naturally durable outdoors.

Larch has an unusual durability and does not need to be dipped or pressure treated with nasty green tanalith preservative. Larch has a high natural resin content which makes it naturally hardy, resistant to decay and highly durable without any treatment. Owing to its high density Larch has an excellent wear and impact resistance. It's ideal for outdoor use such as cladding, decking and landscaping projects. It will comfortably outlast treated spruce and pine that is more commonly supplied in builders yards etc, and we think there is no comparison in appearance.

Just leave it untreated and it will naturally turn to a beautiful silvery grey, or we recommend a UV oil such as OSMO if you do want to treat it. Surface cracks, shrinkage and twisting is to be expected with all exterior timber products but with larch it will be less than most other species.

Obviously rough sawn timber has around a 5% tolerance in the dimensions. We can plane to more exact sizes and crosscut to any length

This is fresh cut so is not suitable for indoor use without drying first.
